Our human resource development and training systems have been designed with the goal of creating work and work environments that facilitate the self-actualization of our employees. Another of the systems’ goals is to be seen as being “even” and “fair” to all employees. By “even” we mean providing equal opportunities to all people of the same level of ability. “Fair” refers to being based on easily understood rules and criteria.

Also, the company is to provide employees with rewarding work, wages and opportunities for skill-development, based on the principle that “the company and its employees are one in the same”, and in exchange for the “valuable skills employees provide”. There is a direct correlation between the employee ability and performance evaluations results, and the treatment they receive. Therefore, it is important for employees to have both a spirit of independence, and a sense of personal responsibility, which are both crucial to self-actualization.

Our Professional Qualification System

Employees are assigned one of 9 professional qualification ranks, unrelated to their age or gender. Job responsibilities, salary and benefits are determined by one’s qualification rank. Opportunities for promotion are available through annually held promotion examinations. Although its written tests, essays and interviews are far from easy, the system offers all employees the chance for promotion, along with an ambitious challenge, which encourages individuals to develop their abilities. Once they are confident with the challenges of their current level of work, they are encouraged to aim for the next higher level.

Performance Appraisal System

Twice a year, employees set individual goals for sales targets, workplace innovation, product development, etc., based on the company’s overall business plan. When employees set their own goals, they feel an enormous sense of satisfaction when they are successfully completed.
