What kind of people are you looking for?

Other than someone with good soft skills, there is no specific “ideal employee” type at SANYO DENKI. However, we do want to work with:

• people who are independent, but take responsibility for their actions
• people who appreciate excellence, and constantly reassess quality and priorities
• compassionate people who work well with others, and seek the joy that comes from achieving something bigger than themselves

Is it possible to change jobs?

Yes it is. The Personnel Department’s annual job satisfaction survey asks for your opinions about your work, and whether you would like to schedule a consultation session to discuss matters such as job changes.

How much childcare support do you offer?

We offer 18-months of maternity leave, and when mothers return to work, they are reinstated in their previous positions. Adjustments may also be made to their duties, if they are in the interest of maintaining the mother’s health.

Would it be possible for me work overseas?

There are lots of chances to work overseas. SANYO DENKI currently has about 50 people from its operations in Japan, who work with local staff at our offices and production facilities around the world.

Do you have flextime?

We do. Flextime requires that you be at work during a set “core time” (from 10:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.). The hours you keep before and after core time, are up to you.

What about days off and vacation time?

We have a 5-day workweek. We also offer winter, Golden Week, summer and Obon holidays, “refresher holidays” and “commemorative holidays”, plus paid holidays (12 days in your first year with the company, and 22 from the next fiscal year onward). All in all, employees were eligible for 125 days off in 2018.
