2006.2.28
Sanyo Denki Co., Ltd. has developed the BTX standard CPU cooler "SAN ACE MC" thermal module for the Intel®775-land LGA package.
This product became available February 1, 2006.
The thermal resistance at a rated speed of 4,700 rpm is 0.260 K/W, and the sound pressure level
is 52 dB(A). This product is available in two models: a model featuring a PWM control function*3
*4.
In this product, the required minimum speed can be set for effectively reducing
the power consumption and noise of the system.
This thermal module draws in air from the case front of the system and acts to cool
the CPU while also blowing air currents on other heat-generating components
to cool them. This thermal module eliminates the need to install individual fans,
heat sinks, and other cooling devices for many different heat-generating components
and is effective in reducing the noise of the entire system.
The heat sink uses a copper center on an aluminum base for achieving a lightweight design that is top class in the industry. The weight of this thermal module is only 970 g.

* Intel®is a trademark of Intel Corporation.
*The information in this release is current as of February 28, 2006.
*1 What is a thermal module?
A CPU cooler that complies with the BTX standard is called a thermal module. Thermal modules are classified into Type 1 with height of 97.7 mm and Type II with height of 72.3 mm.
*2 What is the BTX (Balanced Technology extended) standard?
BTX is a new PC standard developed by Intel® in 2003. It was developed as a next-generation standard to theATX standard that is widely used today.
In this standard, layout changes were introduced for the motherboard size,
CPU and other component locations, screw holes for securing to the case, position and size of I/O panels, position of expansion slots, and other design parameters for providing superior cooling performance and low noisein the system.
*3 What is a "PWM control function"?
The "PWM control function" enables external control of the rotating speed.
*4 What is a "PWM control function + thermally speed control function"?
The "PWM control function + thermally speed control function" enables external control of the rotating speed and also enables control of the rotating speed according to the temperature.
